GW101 Development Manual

The GW101 gateway has a built-in i2S-6UB computing module and is adapted for the embedded Linux operating system, with Linux kernel version 4.14. It supports applications that comply with POSIX standards or are designed for UNIX-like platforms. For the system-specific hardware devices or interfaces, the kernel provides simple and easy-to-use driver interfaces, which can accelerate user application development.

System Software Architecture

The Linux system of the GW101 gateway is divided into 3 parts: Bootloader, Linux kernel, and RootFS.

  • Bootloader, used to boot the system. This product uses U-Boot, whose full name is Universal Boot Loader, an open-source project that complies with the GPL terms. U-Boot can not only boot the Linux kernel, but also support update and upgrade, and startup of the Recovery system.
  • The Linux kernel is the core component of the entire operating system. It is oriented toward the lowest layer, is responsible for driving the entire hardware, and provides the core functions required by the entire system, better serving the conditions and requirements for application operation.
  • RootFS is used for the storage and management of file or directory structures, and is also the space provided for storing user applications. For the requirements of different application functions, RootFS needs to provide files with corresponding functions.
